MISTI in Armenia

January 5, 2022

MIT's International Science and Technology Initiative (MISTI) is organizing a series of short courses at the American University of Armenia.  Prof. Areg Danagoulian will be leading four undergraduates -- Zoe Fisher, Bethany Belleque, Brendan Vaughan, and Zach Francis -- in this endeavor.

The courses will take place in the three weeks of Jan 10-28, and will involve lectures on astronomy, material science, robotics, nuclear science, and nuclear reactor design.  The course is in particular relevant for Armenia, which draws 30-40% of its electric energy from a nuclear reactor in the town of Metsamor.
