MISTI program at AUA, 2022

In January of 2022 MIT's International Science and Technology Initiative (MISTI) is holding a series of short, 1-3 week long courses on various topics in the sciences.  These courses will take place at the American University of Armenia (AUA).  The language of teaching is English.

  • The students are strongly encouraged to attend the lectures in person, if at all possible.  However if you cannot attend the lectures in person you can follow them using the webinar links below.

ELIGIBILITY

Everyone is eligible to participate (some courses are on competitive basis however).  You are however expected to have the following:

  • Strong knowledge of high school mathematics
  • Strong knowledge of high school physics
  • Good grasp of English, as all the courses will be taught in English

 

REGISTRATION and DEADLINES

Note:  ALL participants to ALL the courses will be required to wear masks at ALL times.  See below for FAQ.

For the DIY Geiger please apply HERE. Participation is on a competitive basis. Please submit your applications by January 10th. The applicants will be informed about acceptance by Jan 15th.

Q.  What are AUA's policies on COVID-19?

Current requirement
All the visitors  should wear a mask when on campus and show ONE of the below documents when entering AUA buildings:
  • proof of vaccination
  • negative PCR test result taken within the past 14 days
Requirement starting January 22
All the visitors  should wear a mask when on campus and show ONE of the below documents from ARMED application when entering AUA buildings:
  • proof of vaccination
  • negative PCR test result taken within the past 72 hours
  • negative result of a COVID-19 rapid antigen detection test approved by the WHO taken within the past 24 hours

The requirement does not apply to persons under 18, pregnant women, those who have a documented exemption from vaccination and those who have tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 90 days.

Q: Do I need to wear a mask if I have already gotten sick with and recovered from COVID-19?

A: You need to wear a mask.

Q: Do I need to wear a mask if I am vaccinated?

A: You need to wear a mask.

Q: But my uncle, who knows a lot says that...

A: We couldn't care less. You need to wear a mask.
